Stage 3: Canberra to Melbourne
It was straight to Melbourne from Canberra. We headed inland to get there quicker, but that didnt stop us from getting lost again. We settled in quickly to Melbourne. So the hunt was on for jobs & accomodation (well for the early hrs of the mornings anyway!!) Melbourne has some of the best transport I'v seen. the CBD is built like a grid. So a tram goes down everystreet & across. Just imagine the Luas on every street in Dublin. Melbourne has a notoriously confusing road rule contrived so as not to delay trams - known sa the 'hook turn'. To turn right at most major intersections in the city centre you have to pull to the left, wait until the light of the street you're turning into changes from red to green, then complete the turn. I
